Grandpa was a pretty good dancer - when I was small he took the time to show me how to do a couple of ball room dances the waltz and the fox trot. He would play some of my favorite songs on the organ - Tangerine and The Girl from Impanema - I think that's the spelling. He and Grandma also 'rescued us' from a couple of bad babysitters all we had to do was call TF2-0125 and Grandma and he would come to get us. He was also quite the ladies man. Denise was visiting with him in Florida and apparently he was constantly accousted by ladies in the drug store - she said it was embarassing. One time we were picking him up at the airport - I can't remember which one and he had met some lady on the plane - I remember the lady had a full length mink coat and she had asked Grandpa if he'd like to travel to Spain with her. Grandpa told us he was thinking about it. He also liked off colour toasts. Grandpa for a long time smoked a pipe, one of my favorite smells was Cherry Whisky pipe tobacco. He was pretty tough too. One time he had come back from hunting and was skinning a rabbit in the basement of all places and he had sliced the skin between his thumb and index finger. He came up the stairs showed it to Grandma who said he needed to go the doctor he said no and believe or not made Grandma stitch up his hand - gross. I remember Granpa 'reading' (actually he was sleepin) the newspaper at the breakfast table because he had just come home from work. He would eat dinner when he came home and breakfast when he got up. My friends and I would be playing in the backyard and Grandma would constantly be yelling at us to be quite cause Grandpa was sleeping - I think that's why they finally got an air-conditioner for their bedroom upstairs. I will be thinking of you all. Take Care. Debbie
Warren was my cousin by marriage to Leontine Kunz, my father's (Irving Putnam)niece.(Donna and Terry Jean are my 2nd cousins.) He was a really good man and we are happy he lived a long life. He had a wonderful smile. He was very good to my parents, especially towards the end of their lives. Our hearts go out to his family and friends. Love...Marilyn Putnam Korol (Dan)
