Obituary of Richard W. Truax
(Gasport/Rochester)
Richard W. Truax, age 85, died October 7, 2019 in Highland Hospital following a long illness.
He was born January 22, 1934 in Gasport, a son of Perry and Mary (Snediker) Truax and had lived in the Rochester area over 30 years.
Richard was a U.S. Army Veteran serving as a Sergeant and Paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne from 1952-1955 and was also a member of the VFW. He was an admirer of the outdoors and enjoyed a good cigar and cold beer. Mr. Truax was predeceased by 6 siblings.
He is survived by his sister: Jeanette Hamminga of Olcott as well as several nieces and nephews.
At Richard’s request, there will be no formal calling hours or services.
Interment will be in cold Springs Cemetery.
