Obituary of Saul Harrison

(ALBION)

Saul Harrison Sr., age 87, patriarch to five generations, entered into God’s kingdom October 26, 2019 in the Martin Linsin Hospice Residence. 

He was born October 17, 1932 in Cades, SC and was raised by his mother and grandfather. 

Saul learned the fundamentals of hard work as a young boy walking the fields pulling that mule.  His guns showed what real men were made of.  Saul was a member of and an ordained Deacon with Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, where he also taught Sunday School.  Saul enjoyed fishing, watching sports, watching MSNBC, watching his grandchildren play baseball and football but his favorite activity was enjoying Sunday dinners with his family. 

Mr. Harrison was predeceased by his wife of 63 years; Daisy Lee, his daughter Lenora, and granddaughter Tomeko. 

He is survived by his children:  Lee, Elizabeth, Patricia, Brenda, Rose, Vera, Saul Jr. (Connie), his grandchildren: Michael, Stephanie, Rodrick, Ocie Bennett Jr., Demetrius Bennett, Frederick, LaShonda, Grandville Jr., LaTisha, John Smith Jr., Laisha, Jamaur, Noah, and a host of great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren as well as nieces, nephews and cousins. 

The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 21 West Avenue-Albion, THURSDAY 5-8 p.m.  Family and friends are invited to attend Saul’s Funeral Service, FRIDAY 11 a.m. at the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 3286 Crandall Rd., Albion.  Interment will follow in Mt. Albion Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the church, or Hospice of Orleans, PO Box 489 Albion, NY, 14411.
