Christine Walker and extended family has lost the most beautiful warm hearted sibling, relative, co-worker, childhood playmate and matriarch.
The memorial service attendees, truly, were her friends who told me a life of a childhood at adolescence that I had really not known in my teenage years when she as my brothers girlfriend . I can really understand today 50 years later how she helped shaped who I am.
Chris is an image and a memory know; of one of those truly" sincere and loving persons" that make life so great and important . I
as a child of the 50's and a developing mature adult in the 60's benefited through the sincerity of friendship of such beautiful female influences ( probably no more than a dozen girls and women) that helped me be a well rounded and interesting man (I'm being modest, really) that I grew up to be. This also is a statement of the "boomer generation's time" as we did't have the wars, depressions nor pandemics quite as hard hitting as other generations.
Chris I am very glad that so few years with you gave so much meaning today. May you rest in peace and watch over us.
Sincerely, Dick C. (Jeddo friend).

I was a close adolescent friend of Chris in Jeddo in 1960. We played with 20 other preteen and teenagers in Jeddo. These kids in Jeddo lived within 1/2 mile of each other and when we were home from school only a walking distance away but our schools required a bus ride or 45 minutes by bicyle.
Chris lived 8 miles from Barker School, I lived 7 miles from Medina School and some others in Jeddo on this county - town line hamlet lived 5 miles from the Royalton-Hartland School in Middleport. Until each of us found or earned our drivers license or sourced someone with a car we played at the swimming hole or at the dance hall (former Jeddo Home Bureau or Grange) in downtown Jeddo. The boys also belonged to the Johnson's Creek Troop 38 that met alternate weeks at Johnson's Creek or Jeddo Baptist Church basements to plan camping activity summers.
Chris was my teacher at the Jeddo Community Hall when I was 13 and she 15 . She taught me how to dance. I still can jitterbug ,stroll, and twist those dances we did alternately with my brother Ward who dated Chris before he left for college when Chris was 19.
We playmates in Jeddo, that decade, have fond memories until some time passed and Kennedy's asassination and the Vietnam War crushed our wonderful childhood experiences. I lost two childhood friends in that war. When we grew into adulthood things started to be different with those tragedies and today cousins and friends such as Christine leave us the memories that are still vital in our community. I still share those sweet and difficult memories with those that I haven't seen in a long time but those childhood times and memories of those happy and joyful times remain. May Chris still be there for us again when we arrive at our time too. Peace be with you. Love, Dick Crafts, Middleport NY

To Corky,Wally,Bill,Chris R,& all Christine's family, My sincere condolences. Chris was a very special person; a spectacular woman too! She was bright, beautiful, and enthusiastic about learning and life! That's what made her such a great person and a caring and competent teacher. I know. She was my Jeddo summer school teacher helping me get thru high school, college and life. She was always a great inspiration, and we were all so lucky to have had her for as long as we have. She was quick to high lite her favorite teachers; Miss Pratt ? & others? Also high lite her family:her ww2 navy Dad & master mechanic @ the paper mill, equipment review company trips out of town;Butch's baseball games, his Dad, his biggest fan; Bill jr serving in the nuclear submarine Navy, very proud of him! Corky& Wally, both great water skiers( with their new boat) gliding perfectly on to shore -somehow;her MOM the best cook-excellent meals and the best marble cake in the whole world! I loved & enjoyed it all & Christine.
God we are all so lucky to have known Christine!! May your best warm memories of her keep her spirit with you all, always. I know I will. Best wishes and you all take care. Doc PS: I know she will be sorely missed. Tears of sorrow, joy, but mostly love!

What a wonderful woman! I was lucky enough to spend my first two years of teaching with Chris as one of my teammates. I could go to her for anything, but she had such a passion for social studies. Even after retirement, she visited the school often, bringing me so many resources for teaching social studies, many I still have! It was a blessing that I had Chris to learn about life. My thoughts and prayers go out to her and her family. She always talked about you all!!!! I will light a blue candle in honor of her love for our country and blue birds!
