Cheryl, Nancy and Family
I believe it was in 1956 and I was 8 years old when I first met Art and family as new neighbors. I can remember the times that he repaired my bicycles and my cars. We had many good times when he took us sledding at Pine Hill and swimming at at the lake. For the past couple of years I would call 2-3 times a week. When he answered the phone I would say is this my friend Art Weits and he would say it is, my friend Ernie from Kentucky. He will be sadly missed. May he Rest In Peace with Arlene and John. So sorry for your loss. Ernie

Wanted to share our condolences with the family.
Art was such a great man, taking the time to share his knowledge about cars and help teach this "mind is full of mush" teenager back in the early 70's. He showed me how to set my points on my first car, a 1967 Chevelle Malibu. We got that 283 V8 to get 20 MPG.
Loved all his stories, and times in the garage with him and Arlene. He was truly a blessing to many, including my dad Kenny, who he worked with at GE & Black & Decker.
My mom Lois Schepler, sends her thoughts and prayers to all. She turns 96 next Sunday, and still lives on her own in Brockport.
God Bless Art and the family during these difficult times.

To the family of Arthur Weits, "Art" was a great guy. I remember when we worked at GE, he would car pool form Albion to Brockport. He was my friend, him a maintenance machinist and I a tool and die maker. Made a lots of parts for Art, sometimes he had prints, sometimes we winged it. Art should have gotten paid by Texaco, as a spokesman, because he believed in ( and only use ) Texaco Havoline oil. If your car is sick bring it to the Doc. Weits, guarantee to fix it or diagnosed the problems because he didn't operate (inside the motor) anymore. I knew his life, what an incredible journey. The last visit with Art last year, still the same and I said to him " I have never seen you angry or upset nor use foul words" and he gave me that Mr. Weits smile and grin. I know the girls and son-in-law will miss him greatly for he was a great dad. He is back with mama now. May the God of Love and Peace give you comfort in this time of sadness. Freddie G

It seems like a hundred years ago now, but who could forget a grin like that? When I was a kid at home, my Dad was one of those guys who knew how to do most everything, When it came to cars though, YOUR Dad was KING and that's all there was to it. I forgot that was Jimmy Hubbell's garage across from the high school; I thought it was your Dad's. No question he was one of the good guys and I know you're all going to miss him like crazy. My first thought when I saw this announcement was how happy John was going to be to see him again. God rest his soul and comfort all of you left behind who loved him so dearly. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I have find memories of Art. We went to dinner many times, took him for rides to see many places he loved which often were places he lived and enjoyed seeing. I would visit him often when he was at home, in the hospital, assisted living or in the NH. I was happy to help my sister-in-law, Nancy Horth when ever she needed me to. I too will miss our wonderful conversations, and enjoying his company. I too would often see him and his family at family functions. You learned a lot from him and his wife Arlene. My heart and prayers go out to his entire family. I will miss his smile too. They were the best in-laws for my brother and mentored him in so many ways. You had a good life and left quite a legacy.
