(GASPORT) Frederick William “Rick” Quackenbush, age 62, passed away at his home August 15, 2020, with his family by his side. Rick was born July 12, 1958 in Baker, OR to Donald and Wauneta (Fleming) Quackenbush and moved to Seward, AK where he spent most of his years growing up. Rick has lived in this area since 1973. He was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Swormville, and had worked construction all over Western New York with the Carpenters Local Union #276 and Scrufari Construction Company, where he retired from. He loved working on projects with his children and grandchildren, enjoyed fishing and spent the majority of his retirement enjoying his grandchildren. Mr. Quackenbush was predeceased by his parents and his sister: Ruby Quackenbush. He is survived by his wife Luann (Haas) Quackenbush, his children: Theresa (John) Mussell, Paul (Kristin) Quackenbush, Michelle (Jared) Randolph, his siblings: Fritz (Diana) Quackenbush, Otto Quackenbush, Donald (Sandra) Quackenbush, Max Quackenbush and his in-laws: Jerry and Mary Haas. Rick was a devoted Grandpa and Bopbop to his grandchildren: Zachary, Lillian, Samantha, Liam, Olivia, Victor, Hayley and Vivienne. There will be no calling hours. Family and friends are invited to attend Rick’s Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary’s Church-Swormville, Saturday August 22nd at 10:00a.m. Masks will be required to enter the church. Private interment in St. Mary’s Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family.
