Ted Anderson was an incredible guy. I loved swapping rugby war stories with him over a whiskey. It was Ted that encouraged me to first take more of a leadership role in STANYS. He was a comforting and consistent fixture at our conferences every year, and at Buffalo State. I will miss him and his presence as a true education mentor, but I will never forget him. My deepest condolences to his family.

Science leaders would meet at Letchworth and Ted was always there to greet us...tin cup in hand and wonderful smile. I knew Ted throught STANYS and the SAL organization and respected this wonderful man for not only his knowledge but also his love for science. I attended workshops that Ted presented and I admit that I still have some of the kits that he constructed and those he instructed us to make (even though I have been retired for quite some time.) My sincere condolences to Ted's family, friends and colleagues. I was honored and privileged to know him. May memories of happier times soon replace the grief felt at Ted's passing.

It was such a pleasure to have know Ted over the years at OOYC. Seeing him Sharon and Dreamer walk down the dock always made me smile. Ted would stop at our T deck and say hello to each person by name as well commenting what a wonderful day it was no matter sunshine or rain. He enjoyed his surroundings wherever he was. We especially liked hearing about his and Dreamer's time at his cabin. He will be sadly missed.
Respectfully,
Dick and Tina Bartholomay

Mr. Anderson was a very good teacher and a very interesting person. The thing I really remember about Mr. Anderson was his very subtle and wry sense of humor. There were times when he'd be in a middle of a serious academic dissertation...and then he'd pause for a moment, and is if talking to just himself, he'd make a wry and witty comment that no one else in the room but me seemed to get. I'd have to laugh to myself, because I didn't know if I should laugh out loud. Sometimes the comment would be a bit risque, but it was always so subtle no one seemed to notice but me. Sometimes after one of these comments, he'd look out at the class with just the slightest of smiles on his face, as if he expected someone in the class to jump up and shout "I get it!" It was a smile that was really a wink. Then he'd be all business again, going off on a lengthy explanation of how photosynthesis works. He’ll be missed.

Ted was a friend, mentor, colleague and an all around wonderful man. He worked with me for all my 18 years at Buffalo State. When he supervised student teachers, he contributed "Ponderings", puzzles, and other minute teachings at our weekly seminars. He worked with Cathy Brike, Maureen Milligan and I for ten years with the Buffalo Science Teachers Network in several capacities. He brought many many authentic assessments to my courses and to the STANYS conferences. A true Renaissance Man because of his expertice in many firlds. Full of life, full of jot, Ted, we will miss you. rick Batt and Robin Harris, Cape Coral, FL.

I first met Ted at a faculty "Steak Roast" where he went through a long story of maintaining a classroom by spilling acid on kids. Of course it was not true, ( he had a great sense of humor), but while having fun he mentored me to be a great teacher. Not as good as him. He loved teaching and learning. We talked and teaching and life over many beers. He will always be with us in the heart of his students and the my students who benefited from the advise he gave me.
My condolences to Sharon. My heart and thoughts are with you during this difficult time.

Hi Sharon and Family, our thoughts are with you at this sad time.
I would like to say that Ted was a good guy, a great guy, with a wicked sense of humour and humility.
I always enjoyed his company weather that be in Batavia or over here in Wales.
A good rugby man, who told great stories and shared great memories. He will be missed by many people right across the rugby world.
RIP Ted

I was a student of Mr. Anderson as I used to call Ted at Pembroke school in the 7th grade. He always made his class fun and I learned a lot from him. It was funny when he came to class after a rugby weekend all bruised and limping playing the game he loved. He enjoyed it so much I was a freshman and a senior started a fight with me in the hall by his room He took the senior to the office and told me to disappear. THANKS Dale White Pembroke class of 74

I was in a production of No No Nanette with Ted in the 90s. I was a teenager and Ted was so warm and fun with all of us kids. I bought a stainless steel camp mug that year and started drinking coffee. I've had coffee out of that mug every single day for the last 25 years... it doesn't really attach to my belt but I take it everywhere I go. I didn't know Ted very well but whenever I ran into him I would say hello and explain that we were in the show together and he was just as joyful and sweet as the day I met him. A truly wonderful guy.
