Obituary of Lois Wagner

Lois Wagner completed her life on earth on Monday February 15th, 2021 at the age of 82. She was born and raised in Holland, MI. She lived most of her adult life in Western NY. Lois was born the youngest of three children to Jennie (Roels) & Gerrit Kragt. Her father died when she was young. Jennie worked very hard to provide for her family. Lois loved music. She learned to play piano and organ. Pillar church let her practice on their pipe organ before school. Lois enjoyed playing the organ through out her life. She was the organist for several churches in western NY including St Michael’s, St John’s and 2nd Presbyterian. She also went to school to become a nurse. She married Kenneth Ensing in 1960. They spent a few years in New Jersey while he did graduate work at Rutgers University. They moved to Middleport for his work as an entomologist at FMC. Lois worked as an RN for 33 years. She started at Medina Hospital, spent some time as a school nurse, later worked as a nursing supervisor at Odd Fellows-Rebekah (now Elderwood) and Newfane Health Facility. Their daughter Kimberly was born in 1970. They enjoyed traveling and made frequent trips to Michigan to visit family. One favorite vacation was Hawaii. Lois loved the beautiful weather and scenery, especially the flowers. Ken died from Melanoma at a young age. Lois later married Arthur Wagner from Wolcottsville. They enjoyed traveling as well and visited Europe and several islands in the Caribbean. In the 1990’s Lois became disabled with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. She and Art eventually moved to Wrights Corners. Shortly after Art died she moved to Mount View Assisted Living. Sometimes she would play the organ in their dining room. In those years she was helped by faithful friends and her pastor, Reverend Alan Bauch and his wife Laurie, which was especially appreciated by Kim since she settled in Michigan after college. Lois was preceded in death by her parents, her brother & sister in law, Andy & Donna Kragt, nephews Calvin Kragt, Bob Kragt, and great-nephew Curtis Jacobs.
